Active and passive spaces, as well as a fully landscaped wetlands for local families to explore, will provide recreational opportunities for all to enjoy.

Seventy hectares of high-quality open space has been secured for community recreation activities of all kinds. The vast land area and a staged implementation will enable planning flexibility to ensure the SESH meets the immediate and future needs of the community.

The South-East Sports Hub proposal includes facilities based on a detailed demand analysis completed by the City of Greater Dandenong and Sports Business Partners and is forecasted to meet the community needs for the next 25 years.

The SESH is comparable in size to Casey Fields in Cranbourne and will activate currently underutilised green wedge land, where sporting and recreation facilities are allowed and encouraged in this zone.

The facility could be operational in as little as three years (STGA) and would utilise a sustainable and recycled water supply from the nearby Eastern Treatment Plant.
